Full Service Barber William David Brummitt Originally from Oak Ridge, Tennessee, I was raised in a small town with only 3 beauty shops. My Grandmother owned one of them. “Minnie’s Beauty Shop”. She did hair in her own shops for 60+ years. From an early age she had me separating perm rods, shampooing heads and taking out rollers and vacuuming the floor. It was fun and I enjoyed being with her and being able to help her with the little things around the shop. She always rewarded me with spare change and a dollar from time to time. I suspect those little things meant more to me than her, she was my rock and guiding influence. Also, my great grandfather was a barber most of his life. He worked as a barber in his own barbershops for over 75 years. So this business is certainly in by blood, my heart and soul. I guess I became interested doing hair at an early age, after having watched my grandmother work in her shop as I was growing up. She would always help people feel better about him self or her self after a new haircut, shampoo and set, perm or new hairstyle, or whatever they wanted to do to spruce them self up. It was due to my Grandmothers influence in her home salon, her teaching, my learning and my love for this business, that made me know that I wanted to do hair and personal grooming to make people feel better about them selves in what ever way I could. I started cutting my friends hair when I was about 16 years old, and all my adult life. I have always kept up on the new styles and trends that drive this business. My grandparents used to snowbird in Clearwater, Florida. And from the late 70’s I would come down and spend Christmas and holidays with them and seem to have found a special place in my heart for this area. After graduating from high school I moved to Florida, Christmas 1984 and soon landed a job with Nexxus. Working my way from the warehouse to a Distribution Representative. Traveling to salons, barber shops and spas in the central Florida and east coast area. After driving around an average of 1000 or more miles a week throughout central Florida, I got a little tired of running around the state week after week. I eventually decided to attend a barbering college here in the Clearwater, Fl and graduated with a Barber’s license in 1995. I then went to work in several of the more affluent, larger and corporate owned salons in the greater Tampa Bay area. But my heart was always in the small family owned salons that were from the influence from my childhood. I have lived in the same place in Dunedin for over 12 years now. I specialize in men’s grooming needs. I’m a full service barber that offers precision haircuts, color, perms and body waves, hair relaxing/straightening, beard, mustache and goatee edging and trimming, straight edge shaving, facials, hair and scalp treatments, and men’s full body waxing.
